Mixing Business with Pleasure

I believe in working hard, playing hard, and building meaningful connections along the way. For me, mixing personal interests with professional goals isn’t just efficient—it’s fulfilling. The more I blend the two, the more I find myself surrounded by like-minded people who energize and inspire me.

I network constantly—not just for the sake of handing out business cards, but to form real, strategic relationships that lead to collaboration and opportunity. I’ve learned that the more you put yourself out there, the more doors you open—not just for yourself, but for the people around you.

Take Inman Connect, for example. I’ve been an ambassador with Inman News for the last three years, and those biannual conferences are a highlight for me. They’re invaluable for staying on top of the real estate market, but also for deepening relationships with people who are just as committed to growth as I am.

Then there’s SOF Week—a cornerstone event for the military special operations community. For me, it’s more than just a reunion with people I trained, deployed, and worked alongside; it’s a reminder of where I came from. It helps me stay connected, so when a client needs a referral to a job, a transition resource, or just someone who gets it—I’m already plugged in. That’s what being a good resource means to me: knowing the right people, and being willing to help.

Real Estate Distilled is another favorite—a real estate conference for bourbon lovers. It expands my network in ways that make sense for my clients and my business. I’m always looking for great agents to refer business to, and let’s be honest—bourbon and business just pair well. And yes, I count visiting the bourbon trail as a productive trip.

I also support events like Rock the Green Beret, where I get to spend time with the SOF community while giving back to the Green Beret Foundation. It’s a fun, meaningful way to grow my network and stay grounded in the community that shaped me.

What’s next? If you know of a conference, benefit, or event that ties together real estate, America, college football, bourbon—or all of the above—I want to hear about it. I’m always looking for new ways to show up, connect, and find my people.
