For me, bourbon is more than a drink—it’s a connection to country, community, and the kind of conversations that matter. It’s America’s spirit, literally and figuratively. There’s something about the slow burn of good whiskey that pairs perfectly with honest talk, shared experiences, and stories that stick with you long after the glass is empty.
In the military, bourbon is part of the culture. Whether it’s a quiet drink after a deployment or a shared toast at a reunion, it brings people together in a way few things can. That’s where Whiskey & War Stories was born—from those moments of camaraderie, laughter, and reflection over a bottle that means something.
I grew up in the South, where bourbon was always around, but it wasn’t until later—when I started spending time with collectors and military friends—that I really developed a deeper appreciation. Home tastings turned into a hobby, which turned into a collection, and before long, I was hunting down rare bottles to gift to clients and referral partners. It became a signature part of my business—personal, memorable, and uniquely me.
Now, I host tastings at Virtue Feed & Grain in Old Town Alexandria, sponsor events like Florida’s Fallen: Whiskey & War Stories, and even had the honor of doing a private barrel pick at Maker’s Mark to support the cause. These events allow me to stay connected to the SOF community while also showing up for my clients in a way that’s fun, meaningful, and totally authentic.
One of my favorite stops is Real Estate Distilled—a bourbon-themed conference for real estate pros. It’s not just about deals and market trends—it’s about building genuine connections over a shared passion. Just like in the military, the strongest bonds are forged in trust, humor, and mutual respect.
Bourbon gives me a way to bring all of that together—my background, my business, my values. It’s a way to honor the past, celebrate the present, and connect with others who believe in working hard, showing up, and always raising a glass to the red, white, and blue.
